Artist Statement: My Whole-Part series is based on experimenting with breaking the basic element of chains, the oval anchor chain link design. How the shape changes when I lift part of it and turn it out of the plane. When does the link lose its original character, when does it become an aesthetic, graphic element instead of a basic functional module.
